Terraza 6 Luxury Apartment

What Makes Terraza 6 Different?

Terraza 6 is in Realejo, a quiet residential part of Granada, about 900 m from the Alhambra and around a 10-minute walk from the city center. The apartment sleeps up to 4 guests — one king-size double bedroom and a sofa bed — and is a private rental with no shared spaces or other guests.

The south-facing terrace has unobstructed views over the rooftops of Granada, with the Sierra Nevada on the horizon. The private outdoor pool on the terrace is available exclusively to apartment guests. Both the terrace and pool get full sun through the day.

Free street parking is available directly outside — genuinely unusual for Granada. The apartment has 1 Gbps fibre WiFi, full air conditioning, and a completely equipped kitchen. OUR CURATED RECOMMENDATIONS

What Can You Do in Granada?

Granada is one of Spain's most densely packed cities for things genuinely worth doing. The Alhambra is the most visited monument in the country and must be booked well in advance — tickets sell out weeks ahead during peak season. The Albaicín, Sacromonte, and the historic centre each deserve at least half a day on their own terms.

On arrival, guests receive a detailed digital guide to the city — restaurants, tapas bars, flamenco shows, walking routes, and day trips — put together from several years of hosting. The sections below give an overview of the main areas to focus on.

UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE

Alhambra

The Alhambra is the most visited monument in Spain and needs to be booked well in advance — slots sell out weeks or months ahead. Built by the Nasrid dynasty in the 13th and 14th centuries on a hill above the city, the complex contains the Nasrid Palaces, the Generalife gardens, and the Renaissance Palace of Charles V. It is approximately 900 m from Terraza 6.

Charming Streets

Granada's Neighborhoods

Granada's historic neighbourhoods each have a distinct character. The Albaicín is the old Moorish quarter — a UNESCO-listed network of whitewashed lanes above the river Darro. Sacromonte is the traditional Roma quarter, known for cave flamenco. Realejo was the former Jewish quarter. The Barranco del Abogado ravine runs directly below the Alhambra walls.

Dining

Granada's Top Restaurants

Granada has a wide range of restaurants — from simple neighbourhood bars to serious dining. The area around Plaza Nueva and Calle Navas is the most convenient for visitors staying centrally, though the best places tend to be a short walk further from the main tourist streets. Our guide covers both ends of the spectrum.

Tapas

Best Tapas

Granada is one of the few cities in Spain where tapas are still free with every drink. Order a beer or glass of wine at a traditional bar and a plate of food arrives with it — the custom is embedded in the city's culture and the portions are often generous. Our guide covers the best tapas bars by neighbourhood.

Refreshing

Incredible Bars

The area around the Cathedral, the upper Albaicín, and the streets behind Plaza Nueva has a concentrated bar scene. Granada's social rhythm runs late — the real evening starts closer to midnight than to early evening, especially in summer. Our guide covers the bars worth seeking out in each neighbourhood.

Experiences

Unforgettable City Walks

Granada's historic centre is compact enough to cover on foot. The walk from the Alhambra down through the Albaicín, along the river Darro, and into the Cathedral quarter takes around two hours at a relaxed pace and passes most of the city's main landmarks. Our guide includes three mapped walking routes.

The Pulse and Passion of Andalusian Culture

Authentic Flamenco Shows

Sacromonte's cave venues — the zambras — are the most authentic setting for flamenco in Granada. The neighbourhood has been associated with the Roma community and flamenco for centuries, and the caves are carved directly into the hillside above the Albaicín. Shows typically start late and run for around an hour. Our guide covers the best venues and what to expect.

Where Can You Go from Granada?

Four day trips are within 45 minutes to an hour of Granada by car: the Alpujarras mountain villages, the Sierra Nevada ski resort and hiking trails, the Costa Tropical beaches at Almuñécar, La Herradura, and Nerja, and a handful of smaller towns like Monachil, Güéjar Sierra, and Montefrío. All are reachable as half- or full-day outings from Terraza 6, which has free street parking directly outside for easy departures.

Rustic Paradise in the Heart of Andalusia

Alpujarras

The Alpujarras are a chain of whitewashed Berber-style villages on the southern slopes of the Sierra Nevada, about an hour from Granada by car. Pampaneira, Bubión, Capileira, and Trevélez are the main stops — flat-roofed houses of North African origin stacked up steep gorge sides, inhabited by Moorish communities until the 17th century. Trevélez at 1,476 metres is Spain's highest village, known for its cured mountain ham.

Golden Shores

Beaches Near Granada

Within an hour's drive of Terraza 6, the Costa Tropical coastline offers some of Andalusia's most beautiful beaches. From the lively shores of Almuñécar to the sheltered coves of La Herradura and the charming town of Nerja, a day at the beach makes the perfect counterpoint to exploring the city.

Day Trips

Neighbouring Towns

The towns within an hour of Granada offer a lot of variety. Monachil has a dramatic gorge walk with suspension bridges, 10km from the city. Montefrío was included in National Geographic's list of the world's best panoramic views. Guadix has around 2,000 inhabited cave houses and a 16th-century cathedral. Güéjar Sierra and Pinos Genil both give easy access to the Sierra Nevada mountains.

Majestic Peaks and Winter Wonderland

Sierra Nevada

The Sierra Nevada is 45 minutes from Granada by car. The ski resort at Pradollano is the southernmost in Europe, with around 110km of pistes and a season that typically runs from December to April. Outside ski season the mountains are excellent for hiking — Mulhacén at 3,479 metres is the highest peak in mainland Spain. The entire massif is a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.
