General Entrance
Nasrid Palaces + Generalife Gardens + Alcazaba fortress
The most popular option. Includes timed entry to the Nasrid Palaces — the most visited section. Book early.
The Alhambra is one of the most visited monuments in Europe — and its Nasrid Palaces sell out weeks, sometimes months, ahead during peak season. This guide covers every ticket type, current prices, the four ways to buy, and the rules you must know before you go.
The Alhambra offers several types of visit, each giving access to different parts of the complex:
Nasrid Palaces + Generalife Gardens + Alcazaba fortress
The most popular option. Includes timed entry to the Nasrid Palaces — the most visited section. Book early.
Generalife Gardens + Alcazaba fortress (no Nasrid Palaces)
A good option if general tickets are sold out, or if you prefer a more relaxed outdoor visit.
Nasrid Palaces at night — or Generalife Gardens at night
Two separate night tickets are sold. The atmosphere after dark is very different from a daytime visit. Also sells out.
Generalife + Alcazaba (day) + Nasrid Palaces (night) — spread over two consecutive days
Lets you see the daytime gardens and the Nasrid Palaces at night on different days — a more unhurried way to visit.
Nasrid Palaces + Alcazaba + Generalife + Partal Palace + Medina + Secano (all areas)
The most comprehensive daytime ticket. Covers all areas of the complex including sections not accessible with the standard ticket.
Prices below are approximate and updated periodically. Always verify the current rate on the official booking site before purchasing.

The official Alhambra booking portal lets you reserve tickets from one year to two hours before your visit. Choose your ticket type, select a date, and pick your timed entry slot for the Nasrid Palaces. Bring your booking confirmation (printed or on your phone) and a photo ID on the day.
Go to Official Booking Site ↗You can book by calling the Alhambra ticket office directly. The same advance-booking window applies — up to one year ahead. Have your ID and payment details ready. Collect the tickets at a vending machine or ticket office on arrival.
+34 858 889 002A small number of tickets may be available at the on-site ticket office on the day. This is unreliable during spring, summer, and public holidays when the Alhambra is often fully booked. Worth checking if you are visiting outside peak season — but do not plan your day around it.
Booking a guided tour with a licensed Alhambra guide means your entry ticket is included. A good guide adds significant context to the Nasrid Palaces, Generalife, and Alcazaba. Tours vary widely in depth and quality — look for options that cover all three main areas with an English-speaking guide and small group sizes.
When you buy any ticket that includes the Nasrid Palaces, you must choose a specific entry time slot. This time is printed on your ticket and is strictly enforced. Arriving late — even by a few minutes — means you will be turned away without refund.
Alhambra tickets are personalised. You must present the same ID used during the booking process at the entrance. EU nationals can use a national ID card. All other visitors need their passport.
Once booked, Alhambra tickets cannot be changed or refunded. Make sure your dates are confirmed before purchasing. If your ticket includes a timed Nasrid Palaces slot, that time is fixed.
After booking online, you receive a confirmation email with a QR code. You can present this directly from your phone. Alternatively, collect physical tickets at the vending machines near the main entrance pavilion — bring your credit card and ID.
Tickets are sold exclusively through the official Alhambra booking portal. There is no authorised third-party sales channel. Book direct to avoid reseller markups.
