Getting to the Alhambra: routes, entrances & tips

The Alhambra is Granada's most iconic attraction and a must-visit during your stay at Terraza 6. This page provides all the key details to help you plan your visit, including how to get there, what to see, and important tips to make the most of your experience.

Mind the time on your ticket

Not all Alhambra tickets include access to the Nasrid Palaces. If your ticket does include the Nasrid Palaces, the time printed on it is specifically for your entrance to this area. You must enter at the exact time stated — late arrivals will not be allowed in.

However, if your ticket only grants access to other parts of the Alhambra, such as the Generalife gardens, Alcazaba, and Charles V Palace, you can visit those areas freely within the opening hours. To avoid confusion, please check your ticket carefully to see which areas it includes. If you want to visit the Nasrid Palaces but your ticket doesn't include them, you'll need to purchase the correct ticket in advance, as availability is limited.

Avoid going by car

Parking near the Alhambra is limited and expensive. Traffic restrictions also make driving inconvenient, so we strongly recommend walking or taking public transport instead.

Entrance to the Nasrid Palaces

The line for entering the Nasrid Palaces is located inside the Alhambra complex here. Make sure to arrive on time, as entry is only allowed at the exact time on your ticket.
